Russian rehabilitation center uses Equipping the Saints workshop

Lutheran Hour Ministries-Russia led an Equipping the Saints (ETS) workshop at the Morning Star rehabilitation center recently. The center is located in Yost-Izhora, a village on the bank of the Neva River, in northwestern Russia.

There were 35 people who came to this workshop. This number included those who once went through the rehabilitation program, as well as those going through it now. Everyone in attendance expressed the desire to learn more about how to spread the Good News, so they could share the Gospel with their relatives and others who come to receive treatment at the center.

One topic that stirred great interest in the participants was the theory of evolution, with many questions being asked during both the lecture and the time of fellowship. It was apparent this theory still raises many issues, especially in respect to the Bible’s claim that mankind is God’s own creation. All those in attendance received various learning materials, including a brochure entitled Particles of the Distorting Mirror, which offers arguments confronting the main statements of evolution theory.

In Russia, LHM-Russia works through radio and television programming, an online forum, Bible Correspondence Courses (BCC), concerts, newspaper and magazine advertisements, youth ministry, drama and more. The ministry has been active in Russia since 1993 and based in St. Petersburg since 2007.
