Lutheran Hour Ministries-India celebrates 60 years of Gospel outreach

This year marks the 60th year Lutheran Hour Ministries has been operating in India, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and assisting individuals in this country of more than 1.2 billion people. Staff and volunteers at LHM-India, which is known locally as Christian Media Center, work from offices in Chennai. As a team under the directorship of Rev. C. David its members have said, “We thank God our Father, our Savior Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for leading us 60 long years in this country as a pioneer in the field of mass media among Christians.”

Recently, personnel from Lutheran Hour Ministries’ U.S. headquarters in St. Louis had a chance to visit LHM-India. In July Executive Director Mr. Bruce Wurdeman, International Ministries Director Rev. Dr. Douglas Rutt and Asia Area Coordinator Mrs. Gunya Na Thalang traveled to India to visit LHM’s staff and volunteers.

Beginning in 1951 in a small, rented building, six decades of Christian service is an achievement possible only through God’s benevolent grace. With all humbleness, we praise God and lift up His Holy Name with a thankful heart for all His providence. Please remember us in your prayers as we take the Gospel forward through the 21st century.
