Lutheran Hour Ministries—Uganda Welcomes New Leadership

Rebecca Kyomuhendo returns as Manager for LHM in Uganda.

We are very happy to welcome Rebecca Kyomuhendo to the Lutheran Hour Ministries staff. She joins Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) in Uganda as manager, following the resignation of Rev. Charles Bameka.

Rebecca is no stranger to LHM—Uganda. In 2002, she worked as a receptionist at the ministry center before leaving to continue her education. Rebecca went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Kampala International University, and a Masters Degree in Management from the Uganda Management Institute.

We are very grateful to have Rebecca back, now leading our staff,” said Eric Gates, LHM’s Area Counselor for Africa and the Middle East. “Her skills and dedication to God will enable her to lead the ministry that God has called us to serve in Uganda.”

Rebecca is a member of Lutheran Church Kampala Congregation, where she teaches Sunday School and sings in the choir.

  1. Rebecca, my name is Ken Goodfellow. I’m pastor of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Spokane, WA. Our congregation has been involved in helping Fountain of Hope School in Bukeeka. This school doesn’t have a Lutheran connection. The school is an outreach of True Worship Church. We’ve sent a mission team there for the past 3 years.

The pastor’s name is Robert Sitiyo.

Now to the reason I’m contacting you. Robert has cancer on the sole of his foot. We had it all worked out for him to come to Spokane for treatment, all expenses taken care of, but our embassy would not grant him a medical visa. He has a doctor, but the doctor is unable to get any doxil to treat him. Do you have any advice for me in how I can be of help to my friend.

    Pastor Goodfellow
