Vietnam Students Receive Early Christmas Gifts

The Executive Director of Lutheran Hour Ministries, Bruce Wurdeman and his wife, Mj, just returned from their trip to Thailand and Vietnam, and they shared some of the more memorable experiences as they tour ministry sites in Vietnam.

In the south of Vietnam, the Wurdemans traveled to the Tra On District, in Vin Long Province where they visited Vinh Xuan High School. There they gave 20 bicycles to students whose parents have never been able to afford them, and so they walk several miles each day to get to and from school. Vin Long has the distinction of being the poorest province in Vietnam, and Lutheran Hour Ministries—Vietnam’s staff and volunteers have shared Christ’s message with the people of this area for many years. The school’s principal, teachers, local authorities, and students expressed thanks to Lutheran Hour Ministries for the gifts.

The Wurdemans also visited two kindergartens which Lutheran Hour Ministries built in Tra On in 2008, and has been giving milk, everyday, to the kids. Teachers and parents of students appreciated their visit, and some said that they understood that it was by God’s love in their heart, that they made such a long journey from United States to visit their children.
