Recently, Lutheran Hour Ministries-Nicaragua volunteers visited one of Nicaragua’s walking clinics where the Orphan Grain Train is distributing medical supplies. During this visit, volunteers from LHM-Nicaragua handed out some monthly booklets on spiritual topics and interacted with patients waiting for medical attention.
This exchange gave volunteers the opportunity to speak with these people about the free gift of salvation offered by our Lord Jesus Christ. Many of the patients who were there were grateful for the time spent with the volunteers and thanked them, especially, for the message of God’s hope during this time when they were suffering from a number of difficult health situations.
The volunteers explained to the patients they must trust the “excellent Doctor who is Jesus Christ” and trust in Him for all things—both spiritual and physical.
In Nicaragua, LHM-Nicaragua operates from its offices in Chinandega and is known locally as Cristo Para Todas Las Naciones (Christ for All Nations). Working in connection with Orphan Grain Train, LHM helps share material resources like clothing, medical supplies, food, Christian literature and other vital aid with hurting individuals with pressing physical and spiritual needs. All these efforts are performed as a loving response to Jesus Christ’s example as a servant and His love for us.
