Violence Ends in Jamaica

Staff and volunteers of LHM—Jamaica are safe after tensions in Jamaica erupted into violence on May 24. Police clashed with supporters of drug kingpin Christopher “Dudus” Coke in a week-long skirmish that left more than 73 civilians dead. Although Coke has not been apprehended for extradition to the U.S., police have detained more than 500 men in connection with the violence. The streets have returned to normal and the situation is under control.

“We are grateful to all your support and encouragement at this time,” said the Director of LHM—Jamaica, Rev. Obot Ite.
